Shenzhen Airlines Co., Ltd, was founded in November 1992 and started operations on September 17 of the following year. With Air China and Shenzhen International Total Logistics (Shenzhen) Co, Ltd as its major shareholders, Shenzhen Airlines focuses on business of passenger, cargo and mail transportation. Up to January 2011, Shenzhen Airlines owns a fleet of more than 100 passenger and cargo aircraft which consists of Boeing 747s and 737s, and Airbus 320s and 319s, who are flying on over 200 domestic and international routes.
Shenzhen Airlines has been cultivating a scientific and efficient safety management culture, in accordance with the principles of "Safety First, Prevention Oriented, and Comprehensive Control". In August 2010, Shenzhen Airlines becomes 26th Universiade exclusive global partner on aviation. Shenzhen Airlines has printed four "Universiade" featured aircraft to carry out glorious mission such as "Torch Rally". These aircraft carry not only passengers, but Universiade spirit to the heart of every passenger.
